🐾 Catchmemeow

Terms of use

The short, honest version: Catchmemeow is a free game made by one family. Play it, share it, enjoy it. Please don’t misuse it. Here are the plain-English details. Last updated July 2026.

1. What Catchmemeow is

Catchmemeow (catchmemeow.com) is a free, browser-based seek-and-find game intended for young children playing together with their grown-ups. There are no accounts to create, nothing to buy inside the game, and no way to “lose.” The game and this website are provided as-is, as a labor of love.

2. Who can use it

Anyone! The game is designed for children, but this website’s forms, external links and any future shop are intended for grown-ups. Anything that leaves the site (donation links, the contact form, external resources) sits behind a grown-up step on purpose — a child should always have an adult involved for those.

3. Your progress & your creations

Your found treasures, points, level and any pets you design in the Make-a-Pet studio are saved only on your own device (in your browser’s local storage). We don’t have them, can’t see them, and can’t restore them if your browser data is cleared. The optional leaderboard stores only the three initials and score you choose to submit — see the privacy policy for details.

4. The art & the code

All of the game’s art, characters, names and writing (every cat, dog, hat, world and punny treasure) belong to Catchmemeow. You’re welcome to take screenshots, share them, and use them in family or classroom settings. Please don’t re-sell the art, republish the game elsewhere, or present it as your own work. If you’d like to do something bigger with it — a school project, a shelter fundraiser, an article — write to us; the answer is probably an enthusiastic yes.

5. Fair play

Please don’t attempt to disrupt the site, spam the leaderboard or contact form, scrape the site wholesale, or use the game or its art to train commercial products. That’s it — the rules of a friendly playground.

6. External links

We link to animal-welfare organizations and pet-care resources we genuinely respect (like Petfinder, the ASPCA and Austin Pets Alive!). Those sites have their own terms and policies, and we’re not responsible for their content. Donations made through those links go directly to those organizations — not to us.

7. No warranties, within reason

We work hard to keep the game delightful and bug-free, but it’s provided “as is,” without warranties of any kind. To the fullest extent permitted by law, Catchmemeow isn’t liable for indirect or consequential damages arising from using (or being unable to use) the site. Given that the game is free and nothing is at stake but silly hats, we hope this never matters.

8. Changes

If these terms change, we’ll update this page and the date at the top. Questions about any of it? Say hello — a real person reads every message.
