Most worlds in Catchmemeow start with the lights on. Not this one. The Cave begins in proper pitch dark — the deep-underground kind — and then, click, your flashlight turns itself on and hands you the beam. Everything you see, you see one circle of light at a time: stalactites dripping somewhere overhead, crystals glowing quietly in the walls, bats fluttering past the edge of the glow.

Somewhere out in that dark waits a whole happy crowd of critters, and one of them is the special pet you're after. Sweeping the beam slowly across them feels wonderfully like a real cave expedition — was that a tail? Sweep back. Check again. It's a gentle kind of spooky, the blanket-fort kind, and nothing down here can go wrong: the game can't be lost, so the dark is simply a place to explore, one careful slice of light at a time.

What to look for in the Cave

Three treasures live in this cave, and all three are rare — the shy sort that tucks itself into the crowd instead of bouncing around asking to be noticed. Your flashlight is your best friend here; sweep slowly and let the beam do the finding.

And keep half an eye out for the usual wandering visitors — Cameow Sandiego, Penny the Pug and friends can turn up in any world, this one included.

Tips for grown-ups

One more thing…

Real caves come with a built-in memory trick: stalactites hold tight to the ceiling, while stalagmites might reach it someday. Drop by drop, the two grow toward each other — some pairs have been reaching for thousands of years.
