The Shopping Mall — a world guide
Somebody propped the doors open, and every cat in town came shopping. The Shopping Mall is two whole floors of it: escalators carrying shoppers up and down, paper bags swinging as they go, and a glass elevator gliding between floors like a very patient soap bubble. The storefronts alone are worth the trip. We always slow down to read the signs — GameStray, American Beagle, Bark & Noble, Fur-ever 21 — and somewhere in there, a cat is deciding between two things it doesn't need.
Your job, as always, is to spot the one special critter in the happy crowd. Easier said than done: this is one of the trickiest hunts in the whole game, because every single shopper is toting a shopping bag, and half of them won't hold still — they're busy riding the escalators. There's no timer and no way to lose, so browse at your own pace. Just mind the food court. A full-blown food fight has broken out over there, and the pizza is airborne.
What to look for in the Shopping Mall
Here's the thing about this mall: it keeps no treasures of its own. Not one squirreled away behind a storefront. What it offers instead is scenery worth a slow second look — plus the four wanderers who can stroll through any world (Cameow Sandiego, Schrödinger’s Kit, Penny the Pug, and Mika all window-shop from time to time). If one of them turns up and starts to streak off, tap first and cheer after; the quick ones give you maybe ten seconds. In the meantime, point at:
- The escalators — shoppers with paper bags glide up one and down the other. Pick a bag and follow it all the way to the top floor.
- The glass elevator — it drifts between the two floors, calm as anything. We like to wave as it passes.
- The store signs — GameStray, American Beagle, Bark & Noble, Fur-ever 21. Read them out loud. Groan as needed.
- The shopping bags — every single cat is carrying one, which is exactly what makes this hunt so tricky.
- The food court — a food fight in full swing, pizza and all. Approach with napkins.
Tips for grown-ups
- The escalators are a ready-made vocabulary lesson: up, down, and up again. Point at a shopper, ask which way they're headed, repeat until dinner.
- Let the glass elevator set the pace. Following it between floors with one finger is a surprisingly calming ritual — a nice cool-down after the chaos of the food court.
- Count things together: floors (two), bags (many), cats on the escalator right now (it keeps changing, and that's the fun).
- The game can't be lost and progress saves on your device, so a round that's all window-shopping and no finding is a perfectly good round.
One more thing…
A riddle for the ride home: a broken escalator isn't really broken — it's just stairs. The glass elevator has no such backup plan, which might explain why it glides between floors so very carefully.
